"When people show you who they are, believe them the first time."
~Maya Angelo~
I don't have high hopes for low people. Wishes maybe. Like I wish they would be better, act better... do better.
But...if they don't, well I am not very surprised nor disappointed. There is no investment who those type of people. I let bad people do their thing.
But over there... as in waaaayyyyy over there. While I do my good things over here...
Waaaaayyyyyy over here. Proximity matters and what you are close to and surround yourself with matters. Change of character is a choice and until that choice is made... I make a choice. A choice that will benefit the "Who in Me".
I do not judge them. I assess their behaviors and respond by not pretending that they are someone they are not. I do not create fantasies about what if they were better nor do I buy into the mask they wear.
I accept people to be who they say and show that they are.
It's well past the time we stop expecting bad people to do good things.
If they do... It's either luck, chance, apathy or manipulation.
At least until they make the choice to DO and BE good things consistently.
Otherwise... shoo, I have building to do for the betterment of my journey and self.
Asset or liability.
